MIST presentation at KNVM/NVMM Scientific Spring Meeting
Kirsten Lassing has participated at the KNVM/NVMM Scientific Spring Meeting and presented MIST-related research via a poster presentation. This meeting, jointly organized by the Royal Dutch Society of Microbiology (KNVM) and the Dutch Society of Medical Microbiology (NVMM), will feature seminars and symposia covering various aspects of microbiology, ranging from basic research to clinical applications.

She presented the total inward leakage and efficiency of face masks. She studied this with an experimental set-up (which will be further refined) and quantitatively assessed exposure to a fluorescent dye (representing viral exposure) which was nebulized at a 10 cm distance. Future research will focus on testing at larger distances and she would like to also study this in human volunteers.
