PhD At Eindhoven University Of Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology
Expertise: Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Design, and Vibration
Background:
Mohamed Zayed obtained his Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Alexandria University (2014) and Sapienza University (2021). During his studies, he deepened his knowledge of turbulence and combustion and completed his master’s thesis "Eulerian-Lagrangian Modeling of Virus Coughing Using OpenFOAM" which estimated the spread of respiratory droplets in closed environments using computational fluid dynamics. After earning his bachelor’s degree, he worked as a mechanical design engineer at El-Deeb Engineering Industries, designing electrical control panels until 2018. Following his master’s degree, he worked in the ship design industry, addressing fluid-structure interaction problems, such as the effects of vortex-induced vibrations on offshore installation vessels. Recently, he started his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology, focusing on airborne infection control through localised ventilation and air cleaning.
