Rui Carneiro
Rui Carneiro
PhD Candidate at Eindhoven University of Technology
Expertise: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC), and thermal energy systems
Background:
Rui Carneiro holds a BSc and MSc in Electromechanical Engineering from Coimbra Institute of Engineering and the University of Beira Interior (both in Portugal), respectively. After graduating, he worked for about 4 years as a Product Development Engineer in home appliances. In 2019, he joined CelSian, in Eindhoven, as CFD Engineer. Currently, Rui is a PhD candidate in the Fluids and Flows group, at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he will focus on airborne infection control through ventilation in time-dependent situations. The main objective is to obtain a deeper understanding of airborne infection routes in time-transient scenarios and to yield valuable best practices for designing ventilation systems.
